Dr. Ashley Simpson Jones

Dr. Ashley Simpson Jones

Dr. Ashley Simpson Jones is honored to provide gentle, effective chiropractic care for Trenton, Jones County, and the surrounding areas. Having grown up receiving chiropractic care since she was young, she developed a desire from an early age to pursue a career in chiropractic so others could experience the same pain relief and quality of life she had experienced through care. She received her Associate Degree from Craven Community College (graduated 2006) and her Bachelors in Science East Carolina University in 2008 (go Pirates!), all while working as a radiology technician and learning in her uncle's office, Carraway Chiropractic Center in New Bern. She graduated with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Sherman College of Chiropractic in 2012. Soon after, she set up practice in Trenton, NC, not far from her hometown of New Bern, continuing a legacy of chiropractic care in a practice that began in the 1960s by Dr. George Davenport, and continued by Dr. Lisa Yanni through 2013 (Dr. Lisa is now excited to be back at the office to work alongside Dr. Jones!)

Dr. Jones has studied and received Advanced Proficiency training in the Activator Methods adjusting technique, a gentle, low force technique that can be used on patients of all ages. The Activator Method is one of the most widely researched chiropractic techniques, with numerous clinical trials to support its efficacy. The Activator Method chiropractic technique uses a spring-loaded, hand-held mechanical instrument called the Activator adjusting instrument. This instrument allows chiropractors to provide a quick, low-force impulse at specific points. There are two major advantages of an Activator instrument treatment:

  • High speed. The instrument is so quick that the body's muscles are less likely to tense in response and resist the treatment. The lack of muscle resistance helps facilitate the treatment’s effectiveness.
  • Controlled force. The applied force is localized and does not put the joint in any compromised positions that could cause more pain or dysfunction.

In addition to the Activator Method, Dr. Jones is proficient in Diversified technique, extremity adjusting, and works with patients on rehabilitation exercises and posture training. We also offer low-level laser therapy-a non-invasive, side-effect-free technology which can offer additional pain relief, speed up tissue healing, and increase tissue strength in injured areas, in addition to stimulating the immune and nervous system, promoting healing, and reducing inflammation. This form of treatment has been used for nearly 50 years and is FDA cleared. Dr. Jones is a certified medical examiner, providing affordable DOT physicals for truck drivers and bus drivers. Appointments are typically available the same day or the next day.

A native of New Bern, Dr. Jones is now a proud Jones County resident. She is recently married to her wonderful husband, Tyler, with whom she stays busy fixing up their not brand new, but new-to-them home. She is a member of Temple Church, and in her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, whether it's the mountains or the beach, kayaking, traveling, and being with family. She is a volunteer with Trenton EMS and the Jones County CERT team and has been the team doctor for the Jones Senior football and basketball team for the past several years.
